A quick overview of the our latest sites...
Remarkable Residents, Frankton Flats.
This was a challenging site after lock down. Coping with the weather in a very wet and cold time. The end result was a positive one. A pretty cool design by Baxter Design in Queenstown freeing up the conventional linear look of vertical facades by cleaver softening of gardens and paths with curved flows and tombstone boulders.
Frankton Road, Queenstown.
Quite a paving job of almost a thousand pavers. Body was aching and clothing almost worn away. This small area pictured, required a fall into the open sump drain completed prior for builders to begin their timber stairs to the area. The levels on the right, ramp up to a path. Lots of cutting and setting levels, and working with the dimensions of the pavers to make them fit within the edge and building.
Holiday Inn, Queenstown.
Finishing off this small strip of lawn area at the Holiday Inn. Last finishing touches repairing some irrigation before setting the watering times. The architect designed this building to represent the New Zealand landscape and gave the term “erratic” to the nature of the forms in the building, the way it represented the mountainous terrain that was formed under glacial influence and the upthrust of sliding tectonic plates. The landscaping was designed by Land, Landscape Architects carried the theme in the amazing rock work softening with thoughtful planter and boulder placement.
Prospectors Park, Cromwell.
An example of subdivision tree planting in Cromwell. Quite a detailed amount of specifications for this tree planting job. Hopefully the building contractors don’t wreak the trees and lawn areas when they build.
